(ooc: Alright, here goes my first attempt at acting out Jazzie's characters.)
Kora quirked an eyebrow at Lacey. Hm. Her new teammate. The girl looked about 12 years old, but acted much older. And Silver...she had no idea.
"See ya, Satch," she said in resignation, glancing at the noble cat. "Have fun with Silki."
Satchel snorted. As if.
I refuse to comply with this! thought Silkia furiously, her eyes burning holes in Lady's forehead. I would like to be with Jake, now.
Jake just crossed his arms sullenly. He didn't want to be separated from Silki. He had money. Wasn't that enough?

When Jake started pouting Kat just about lost it, she was going to be working with him? "Don't be such a baby, leaving your pet for a little while's not that hard."

"She's not my pet. She's my best friend." He said vehemently, stressing the word friend perhaps a little more than needed.

"That says absolutely nothing good about your social life." Kat said mockingly. Laughter was in her eyes but she refused to let it show anywhere else, keeping a perfectly straight face.
Was it not you advising me to hold my tongue? Ai asked though her voice was tinged with amusement.
What do we care what an earth-boy thinks of us? He's harmless without his pet, we shouldn't worry about making an enemy of him. Not like we already haven't already guaranteed his hate.

That made Kora laugh.
No, really. It made her laugh. A true, open-mouthed, slap-the-knee laugh. She didn't mean it, really. It just kind of...burst out.
Jake's face flushed, his skin turning bright red. He sought a comeback, but a bit too late he only managed, "So?"
And Kora laughed again.

It showed how much control Kat had learned in the past two years that she didn't burst out laughing at Jake's response, instead she simply chuckled slightly and shook her head. "Even I have a human best friend other than Ai, and I spend most of my time trying to avoid making them. Surely you can't be foul all the time? He isn't, is he?" She turned her eyes to Kora.

Aeslyn ignored the sight of everyone but Lanz, trying to hide her distaste for the path things were taking. She was beginning to feel like she was part of a zoo.
"At least Levviel will be there. He's gonna be nice to me, isn't he?" she asked the necromancer. The steed... well, colt... came up to Lanz and snorted a little bit.
'I thought I had made it clear last time we met that I wouldn't harm you,' Levviel said into the woman's head. Aeslyn rolled her eyes.
"Right, right, sorry. Forgot."
"I'm a bit upset that Lady just left," Lanz suddenly said. "It makes me think she's going to do something crazy..."
"Well, you know Lanz, she's not the sanest cookie there is. She probably will do something crazy. She's a strange goddess that... well, according to what Princess Kardis said, was... is... part tiger... or something like that... I don't know. She's weird. They're all weird." Lanz sighed.
"I need to feed," he said, trying to push everything else out of his mind. "If I don't, I can't do anything to defend myself later on." Glancing down at his right palm - a little more lanky and sinewy than the left - he slowly made his eyes to Aeslyn. She shook her head as violently as she could.
"NUH-UH. NO WAY. NO. NOT EVEN!"

Kat glanced up when Aeslyn started to protest something Lanz was doing, "What's wrong now?"

"What do you mean, 'What's wrong now'? Why do you haveta say it like that?" the firebreather asked, squinting an eye and putting her hands on her hips. Lanz made a fist, a very tight fist, and a knuckle or two popped.
"Aeslyn! Shut up."
The woman growled a little bit and folded her arms. With reluctance, she bowed her head a little at Kat.
"Don't know what's wrong. Why don't you ask the big scary monster?" She tilted her head in Lanz's direction.

"Because in my experience something is always wrong." Kat sighed, "And he doesn't look much like a big scary monster to me, just another idiot stuck here with the rest of us. Or Wraith bait, depending on the planet."

"I'll have you know," Lanz said dully, "I'm not an idiot. I'm far from it. I doubt you or your people could handle what I've endured, which requires more intellect than what an 'idiot' has. In fact, I'd be happy to challenge you in intellect someday."
"How can you take that?!" Aeslyn shouted, pulling at the shoulders of his cloak in anger. "How can you take that?! Screw it, I DON'T CARE! Gimme your damn hand and feed so you can summon something and kill that sunovabi--"
Lanz yanked his hand away from the woman before she could place it over her mouth.
"You said no, and no means no, does it not?"
"You're such a puss. I can't believe you. You make me so mad!" Eyeing each other, Lanz and Levviel both thought it was time for Aeslyn to be taken to her teammates, so the equine led Aeslyn away.

"Feed?" There was barely-noticeable fear in her voice.
He is not Wraith, Kat. Ai said softly.
He doesn't look Wraith, that doesn't mean he isn't like them. She kept wary eyes on Lanz. Right hand drifting towards her back where the Beretta was stuffed into the waistband of her pants.

She wasn't nearly slick enough to avoid the necromancer's eyeshot.
"I use my feeding touch better than I used to. Don't worry. I'm not going to go evil or psychotic on you or anyone else." There was barely a smile on his face, but one was there. He held up his right palm and showed her a faint purple scar in the center, looking almost as if it served as a mouth.

Kat shuddered at the sight of his hand and backed away, it reminded her of Wraith. Reassurances or not she still pulled her gun, though she didn't point it at anyone. Instead she began fiddling with the safety and loading and unloading the magazine, it was a nervous habit.

"I can tell you how it works if it would make you feel any better," he said, taking a step forward, then quickly correcting his mistake and stepping back again. Fear was a horrible tool. "I don't plan on using it in this camp, at least not without consent of my victim. I don't consider you all real enemies, but more as a competition."
