"I know how Wraith feeding works and I doubt yours is much different." Kat flinched when he stepped closer, glad he backed up and didn't make her shoot him. "And even the best control doesn't stop instinct. There was a Wraith raised by humans, she didn't want to feed but she still had to. She still killed people because she couldn't keep herself in check."

"Well... I've gone through trial and everything. I'm not a 'bad' necromancer. I do what I have to. If it would make you feel any better," he put his right hand behind his back and took out is left hand, "I will make a promise with you. I'll bind it with my staff, even. I promise I won't use my feeding touch on you."
There was a silence from the two of them, and he could hear Aeslyn yelling something at Levviel in the distance.
"I don't wish to be like her and make enemies with everything I see."

"I don't care for promises." Kat bit her lip, she didn't want to be constantly nervous around the man but a promise would hardly help that. "Keep your magic and your promises and don't get to close to me and we'll have no trouble. Within a foot of me and I'll shoot you without a thought."

Disappointed, Lanz turned around and headed for Aeslyn's direction.
"I wonder how quick you are to make alliegances. Or maybe where you come from, your personality traits are treasured?" Aeslyn caught a glimpse of him coming nearer and halfway sneered.
"I don't know why you try," she said. "You completely baffle me. It wasn't worth it, was it?"
"You don't understand. Every bit counts for something. You just have to bite your tongue and take the better context when you reply, and that makes it better than the method you take. Kat and I are at least on better terms than she and you, right?"
"I don't know. Maybe we both unknowingly have respect for one another's similar personalities," the firebreather answered.

"We're barely on better terms than that Wraith I killed yesterday and myself. Don't get your hopes up." She called after Lanz when she heard his comment to Aeslyn.
Stop insulting them for no reason, it grows boring. If you are going to kill them kill them, and if you are not, leave them. Ai snapped, tired of childish bickering.
You're not helping.

"But you did say 'barely'..." Lanz said with a grin as his reply.
"You know... I think you and your team is gonna win this thing. I don't know how in the hell, but I think you will."
"What makes you say that?" he asked, raising his brow at Aeslyn.
"I don't know. You just cause less trouble by nature I guess. Either that or it's the fact that you're in love with a damned go--"
Quickly, Lanz shoved his right hand over Aeslyn's mouth, and when he realized that his feeding touch had began, he switched hands as fast as he could.
"S-sorry. You need to watch what you say!" Aeslyn was fuming mad, her jaw in the firm grasp of Lanz's hand. Writhing around, trying to pry his hand off, she then blew a plume of fire into his palm. The man leapt back with a pitiful cry of pain, staring at his burnt hand. Levviel laughed, if the equine noise that came out could be called such a thing.
"There! Now all you have is your damn feeding hand! So keep it away from me!"

"Barely because I'm on better terms with anything than the Wraith. 'Cept the Ori, but they're not my problem." Kat laughed when Aeslyn burnt Lanz's hand. "Cool trick. But let me guess, that's magic to?"

Aeslyn grinned and tossed Kat a vial of her elixir.
"It's not magic, it actually really is nothing more than a trick, I'll admit. I've been drinking those kinds of elixirs for about 10 years now. They form a liquid lining on the bottom of your stomach that lets you produce fire if you take a deep enough breath. I've had so many of them that I don't need them a whole lot anymore unless I want to make cool colors. See?" She took a swig of a small vial of green liquid, took a deep breath, and a glorious verdant flame came from her mouth. "Still hurts like fire, but it's not magic. Anyone can do it really if their stomach can tolerate the chemicals."

Curiously she turned the vial over in her palm, studying it. "Interesting. I've never seen anything like it. But then again the natives of Pegasus are always wiped out before they get to advanced." She tossed it back to Aeslyn. "Must be handy for scaring people off."

"Generally." She fastened the vial back to her belt and stuck her tongue out at Lanz. "Looks like the score is even once again, isn't it?"
"Since when were we keeping score?!"
"Since you got all smartass on me, that's when!" Lanz sighed heavily, wishing he knew some curative magic for his hand.
"To think that I befriended you for Lady and Kardis. If it had just been Kardis, I would've said no. I would've said hell no. And then I would've damned the world and set fire to the forests." Aeslyn loved his sarcsm, but sometimes it was hard to tell when he was using it. She folded her arms.
"Someone around here has got to have some sort of freak ability to fix that. We all have something freakish about us, so I'd be surprised if that talent was missing."

"To bad about your hand. I could probably fix it if I had the right stuff with me but since we're stuck on a planet in the middle of censored nowhere you're going to have to settle for a bandaid." Kat shuffled around in her pack and pulled out a plastic bag full of garish bandaids. "Now, do you want Barney, Elmo, Big Bird, or Bratz?"

"I... I think I'll take..." Lanz perused over the bandaids, "... Big Bird."
Aeslyn shook her head at the grown man with sadness, and then looked to Levviel.
"Come on, you. Let's go. This man is making me sick."
'You don't give him enough credit.'
"I may not give him enough, but he doesn't give me damn near any."

Kat smacked a big bird bandaid on his hand. "Congrats, your the first person brave enough to take the creepy bird. All the other guys wanted Elmo. No one has taken Bratz yet, so sad. But I can't exactly blame them, creepy little dolls." She glanced down into the bag, "I need to restock and get some more characters for this thing."

"Not exactly sure who all of these characters are, but I don't like dinosaurs or creepy red furry things, or... fashionistas. Thanks," Lanz said. Aeslyn gave a chuckle from far away.
"Aww Levviel you're teaching him how to fit into society so well! You taught him his thankyous!"
The man shook his head and sighed, dusting himself off a little bit and looking to Kat. "Sorry things haven't been really accomodating around here. I hope we can be acquaintances at the least. I understand that 'friends' may be asking too much."

"Friends is asking too much when I've known you for six months. You have to be very, very determined to get yourself called friend by me, I doubt you have the patience. And you're welcome for your big bird bandaid. Cap would probably smack me for corrupting aliens with earth pop-culture again." She gave him a faint smile and then sat down on the ground. After a moment she laid back to stair at the stars. "Beautiful."
