Jake kept scraping at the meat, pulling off the skin, wincing at the blood and dirt covering his hands. "I should be able to cook this." He said, tossing the slabs of meat over onto a rock. "Is the fire done yet?" He stood, and stretched. This wasn't so bad. He was filthy, and his hands were covered in blood, but for some reason he didn't notice.
"I'll be back, I'm going to get a stick to roast the meat on, alright?" And he was asking for other's approval! Since when did he even care?
((OCC: [glow=red,2,300]SPOILER ALERT!!![/glow]
I feel bad now, Jake is getting all virtuous and stuff, and I am thinking about killing him off (in the book)... XD))

"Have fun with that, I honestly don't care what you do with your food." Kat said to Jake. She tossed the canteen at Jerez and then climbed up into one of the nearby trees. Sitting on a branch, careful to make sure this one could take her weight, with her back against the tree she closed her eyes and sighed. Maybe it would be nice to relax on an alien planet for awhile, one that wasn't swarming with Wraith or Genii. "Have a nice time cooking, boys." (ooc: Poor Jake, I like him. )

((OCC: So do I, but I want the drama of having him die in Kora's arms, from a deadly wound inflicted by Satchel while they fought in the sky, a single tear of Kora's falling onto his lifeless form ^^))
"You're not going to eat?" He asked, picking up a stick he thought long enough to use.

"Not unless I want to be sick." Kat told Jake, eyes still closed as she lounged in the sun on the tree branch. It occurred to her that without her shirt she was going to get sunburned but she decided she was to lazy to go get it. "Food is a really bad idea for me in the morning, I usually just exist on coffee 'til the middle of the afternoon when someone realizes I have yet to eat and drags me to the mess."
(ooc:Torture him by all means, but pleeeeeeeeeease don't kill him)

Jerez took the canteen, walked to the creek, and came back with it full. Then he realized another dilema.
"So... How are we going to heat the water over the fire?" He asked, and after thinking a little more, "What is the third course going to be?"

"Alright then." He sat down, and began sharpening the end of the stick with the knife Lanz gave him, waiting for the others to build a fire. "Kat, why do you like to blow things up?"

"There's power bars over there somewhere where I dropped them, not much of a meal but it's food-ish. I think there's eve some chocolate flavored ones." Kat waved her hand in the general direction of her abandoned jacket and the pile of power bars next to it. "They taste like dust though."
"Because I do?" Kat said in response to Jake, "I don't know, it's just fun when things explode. And having a job where it's frequently necessary to blow things up it's handy to like it. It's just kind of something I've always liked."

"Oh yeah... I guess it'll fulfill the requirement, even if it's unappatizing..." Jerez said, not caring to ask what a 'power bar' would be. He didn't really care.
"But I still don't know how to heat water for tea."

Lanz scratched his scraggly goatee in wonder of Jerez's dilemma. What would one do if there wasn't something to heat te-----....
"I have an idea!"
The staff in his hands grew purple and began to vibrate with energy, and four half-mobile skeletons rose from the ground. Lanz grew noticably weary, sweat running down his face, but he made sure that once the skeletons were dismissed, only the skulls remained. He let them fall to the ground and smiled.
"It's no kettle, but it'll hold water."

"Oh, ew!" Kat said when Lanz summoned the skeletons, "No way I'm drinking anything that you boil in that, not that I'd drink tea anyways. I'll take my chances with the germs and diseases in straight river water."

"Skulls?" Jake said, shuddering. "Oh well, they will hold water. Could someone get a fire going?"

"There's already a fire, hon. You blind or something?" Kat said, gesturing towards the flames. It was quite a nice fire, apparently she had done something right building it.

"Ew?" Jerez said, referring to Kat's reaction to Lanz's craftiness, "What are you talking about? Necromancy sterilizes everything!" He picked up some sarcasm from Silver.
"That's a great idea, Lanz." He said, smiling at the man, "But, ya' know, we could've used the skull of the baby bear... I'll use the skulls you conjured though, since you put forth the effort."
With that, he took some sticks and got them to stand upright enough for the skulls to be suspended, the eye sockets proving quite convinent, filled them with water, and added the mint.
