Okay, so some of you may have seen the BYC on the NW at neopets. Well, if you frequent the NW, it's guaranteed that you've seen a BYC going on. You may have even participated in one before!
A BYC, or a "be your character", to my observation, is a shoddy one-liner-okayed excuse for a roleplay that is usually very messy and filled with useless chatter. Most of the time, everything accomplished could have easily been done in a chatroom with some afternoon tea and sugar pills. This "BYC" will be different.
It will be different because we will make it together. We will develop the land, the story, and the characters together. No one person will run it (though I'll try to keep it in order when it starts to fall apart xD) and everyone has free reign over any NPCs. It's a chance to be creative and take a story different ways, it's a chance to surprise someone, a chance to be surprised, all sorts of things. Take a break from the hard work on your novel to drop a few characters in an adventure and help it move along.
There are just a few rules:
Chapters will usually have different sub-plots. One chapter the group may be chasing after a villain, while in another chapter, they may be trying to convince someone to join their side. Still, at the same time, the main plot is still there... somewhere... Can you tell that I haven't thought that over yet?
We'll figure it out together. Right?
First we'd better just let things unfold!

There are just a few rules:
- You can control every character except the PCs created by everyone else. This means all non-player characters and random plot people, etc. Go right ahead.
- Organization is key! If you're going to branch out on your own, make sure to let everyone know which area of the map you're starting in, and please be consistent with the storyline!
- Thread titles will have a specific fashion. They will be titled with "location - Chapter #". If during the same chapter someone else branches out to create a different thread (say they're leaving the group and creating their own), it will be "location - Chapter #.1, .2, etc.". Chapters well end on a majority decision, i.e. "well we've accomplished a lot this chapter, so maybe it's time to start a new one?" etc.
