So, what do you guys think? Is this good for a "world map", or like a continent to start on? And yes, it is in the shape of a wyvern, because yes, Lady ADORES wyverns. By the way, I call dibs on naming and developing the country for spot 1! xD OKAY, here's what you do if you want to make a country: - Claim one of the sixteen spots, number one being off limits, 'cause it is MINE
- Find a name for it
- Name the capitol or capitols
- List the species of people that live there (i.e. humans, elves (specify what kind), dwarves, dragon people, mermaids, whatever) and what their culture is like.
- The language that everyone will speak is called "Worlder". If the people of your country speak something other than that, list what it is and what it sounds like.
- What are some things that come from this country? Professions (mages? swordsmen? dancers?), goods (produce? pearls? fine wood crafts?), weapons, etc.
- List any type of customs, including religion and what kind of deities (if any) are worshipped, what the daily lives of people living there are like, etc.
- Are there rulers of this place? Who are they? What is the basic government like?
If you'd like to add anything onto that list, go right ahead, but those are the basics. Ooh! Don't forget to tell me what color you'd like your country to be filled in on the map! ^^

Okay, here's my country:
Hillia
Spot number 1 Capitol: Ellendera Color: Light Lilac People: Mostly human and a race of elves called the “Star Elves”. Any of the star elves that don’t reside in their Astral Temple and that actually walk the earth are usually in Hillia. Star Elves are the world’s demigods and are in the world’s legends. Their skin color can range from a purple or blue tinted peach to a full on violet hue. In eastern Hillia there is a small clan of dragons, and in western Hillia there’s a small clan of gryphons. Hillia is somewhat regal, but on the coastline it gets very tropical. Dancing and cooking are the favored arts of this country, and every full moon and new moon is celebrated with a bonfire and dancing. Language: Worlder, and Star Elves have a secret language called “Estrelia”, but most of them still speak Worlder. Things that come from Hillia: Star Elves, Star Mages (star elf “light mages”), Light Mages, Stardancers and Shadowdancers (mages who use different dances to cast magic, “star” being light and “shadow” being dark) a loooot of swordsmen, blacksmiths, counselors, #1 product is mangoes, coconuts, other tropical fruit, elven fabric and jewelry, Star Water (a potion that cures most magical ailments). Customs: Dancing is a huge art and everyone in Hillia does it. Different parts of the country have different kinds of dances, and it is a popular form of magic, even among the elves. Star Elves and most humans worship the Star Elf deities, Fahelian the Father Star and Rurillia the Mother Star. Another popular deity is the monotheistic Omfreid, the God of the Soul that some humans worship, though his idolatry is more popular in other countries. Intercourse is sacred as is childbirth, so celebrations and dances are thrown for pregnant mothers and marriages. People of Hillia are generally kind and try to make life easy for one another. Economy: Hillia is one of the richer countries of the mainland, mostly because of the exports of fine elven products. Government: Monarchy, to honor the Star Elf deities. King Vayle and Queen Ismina. They rule happily and are well-liked, at least by those of Hillia. Country Animal: A white cat Country Symbol: The star Motto: “Hope is in the Stars.”

AGATHON
Spot: #15
Capitol: Mendinar
Races: Humans, Sea Elves, Golems, Dwarves
Culture: The feel of this country is very much like a medieval version of Steampunk, interwoven with ancient magicks to augment their science. Golems, made from iron, clay, wood, and the like, are brought to life by magick and used as servants and familiars. The capitol is located right on the shore, and it the largest port-city in the country.
Speeches: Worlder, Ghazrudh (Dwarven), Arqin (Elvish)
Trades/Exports: Agathon is famous for its advancements in medicine as well as its seamless blending of magick and science. Only the finest medical instruments are made here, and this is also the home of the best medical school on the continent. Agathon is also has a huge seafaring population as well. It is home to many Sea Elves, a blue-skinned, white-haired people. They are experts at ship-building, sailing, and fishing, and are close allies with a strange underwater people that live off the coast. These Ardenin folk provide strange materials that are in extremely high demand. Lunond, a stone that glows white when exposed to fresh water, is often used in the place of candles and fire, though due to it's pricey nature, many people would rather just buy candles anyway. Another exotic material that can only be found in Agathon is Engaur (also quarried by Ardenas deep in the ocean). It resembles obsidian in appearance, but it's properties make it somewhat of a brittle metal.
Customs: The people of Agathon have two patron deities, representing the two main themes of the country. There is first Kanus, patron god of the mind, the body, and every intricacy that it holds. He is also guardian of natural law, order, and health. He is most honored by keeping healthy, but some get tattoos of a certain symbol on the appropriate body part. Seryf is the goddess of the ocean. She is the patron deity of chaos, the unknown, entrepreneurship, restlessness, and chance. Honor her by wearing shells and drinking water. The general populous is rather wealthy due to much trade through the various Agathonian sea ports. Noble professions are considered to be of the medical variety, architecture, engineering, diplomacy, ship-building, and philosophy.
The government is run by a quorum of 11 elected representatives, with at least one of each race (not including Golem) present. The only voting prerequisite is that the voter pay taxes. Quorum representatives may serve a maximum of 40 years, and each term lasts 5 years.
Country standard: The symbols that appear on currency, flags, and the like include the colors white, black, gold, and blue, as well as a sun (sometimes with 11 beams), and feathers or wings.
I would like Agathon to be a dark blue. ^^ Something like #0d1f44.

Spot #6
Name: Raelier Capitol: Setik Color: Orange People: Mostly Human with a few dwarves from the few low mountains, though they generally keep to themselves and few humans dare to enter their mines.
Language: Worlder Culture: A warlike medieval country that borders the sea on two sides but has very little to do with it unless it involves getting the military advantage. It's few port cities are more military bases than trading capitols. All able bodied men and women are expected to serve a period of four years in the after that age of sixteen army and many choose to stay for a longer period giving it the perhaps the largest standing army on the continent and the ability to raise more troops as needed.
The keeping of slaves (human only) is quite common, and soldiers are permitted to keep any women of little value to the country that they might capture during a battle. If a man is considered a traitor to the country he might be killed and his children and wife sold as slaves at auction. It is relatively common for slaves to be freed by their masters and if they wish they gain the rights of any other citizen.
They produce few mages as magic is of little value to them, though those with talents that might have military use are kept and trained most leave for other countries that are more open to magic use. Things that come from Raelier: Finely crafted weapons of all kinds, mostly made of Rael (guess where the country got it's name?) an extremely light but incredibly strong metal found only in the small range of mountains running through Raelier and guarded jealously by the dwarves.
They produce some of the finest swordsmen and mercenaries on the continent, mostly veterans of their vast standing army. They also produce many wars and skirmishes.
Customs: Worship of three gods. Mai, goddess of the earth and her partner Ti, god of metalworking. Arguably their most important god is the son of Mai and Ti, Nian, god of war. It is common to offer a part of any meal they have to whichever god they feel they need protection or favor from at the time, and sometimes all three. When food is scarce they might forgo eating altogether in favor of offering a respectable amount to the gods.
Government: An assembly of 8 men and 4 women elected every 3 years by citizens and freedmen. Most are retired generals who have already gained the respect of the people.
Country Symbol: Twelve stars representative of the assembly surrounding a sword and bow crossed.
(Hehe, I went into insane detail with the culture thing but this is a sort of country I've had in mind for *ages* but haven't had the time to write about)

Okay, here we go. Tell me if it needs some work!
Spot # 13
Name: Beoris
Capitol: Auras
Colour: Green
General Layout/biome: The land is filled with boreal forests, and in the very center is a large, crystalline lake with water that is said to have some healing properties.
Races: Minotaurs, Earthen dragons (draongs with powers of the earth), water dragons, elves (forest ones), a small colony of humans.
Culture/Customs: All the creatures prefer to live a more natural life, living scarcely, yet not sparingly. They have amny celebrations years round, the biggest being the Dragon festival where the most beautiful and elegant dragonesses do spectacular airborne dances. Every new year, all the inhabitants of the country go to the northern shore of the Crystal lake to celebrate in harmony and eat bountiful feasts. The Elven elders tell legends of old of the heroics of past, well, heores. The minotaurs thrown huge contests of strenght, loyalty, and stanima that awe the spectators.
The folk of this country don't have any dieties except the earth itself. Once a month, a representative from each race of the country, one highly skilled in magic and possesing an unearthly singing voice, gather over the center of the Crystal lake. They sing to the forest and cast spells and charms to protect it and aid it to thrive. This is why the forests are so ancient and beautiful.
Language: Worlder, Grunt (what the minotaurs speak amongst themselves), Nauter (A musical language that the dragons of this land speak).
Professions: Most that live here are tenders of field and forest. They know plants very well, and many are healers. Also, singing is highly prized as a talent that many have. The dragons tend to be either guardians that commit heroic acts, or acrobatic sky dancers. The minotaurs are very intelligent and strong, and are therefor mainly as the defence force of the land.
Goods: Many medicins of all sorts, and fine bows and arrows can be bought here. The produce, such as berries and fruit, are also quite popular
Currency: Finely crafted wooden coins. Their currency is merely called 'Bora' (One Bora is equal to 5 dollars Canadian, lol) Pine wood is used for 1 Bora to 10 Bora. Oak, for 15-100 Bora. Willow for 125-1000 Bora, and Yew for any currency of value above 1000.
Heirarchy: A king and queen from each Tribe is chosen. They must be of wit and strength, loyalty and honesty. There are 15 Tribes, 2 human, 5 Elven, 4 Minotaur, 2 Water dragon, 2 Earthen dragon. They make all the important choices for the country together, and the tasks of hierarchy are divided otherwise to those who are best suited.
Every Tribe Has one Elder who is in charge of it, and each has its own name,
Country Animal: The Bald Eagle, which is forbidden to kill there.
Country Symbol: A tall golden tree with silver flowers.
Country colours: Green, brown, and blue.

Of course! I'll make sure that spot is reserved! By the way, if anyone is up to it, feel free to make another country. I might make another one, since I need a cold spot for my character Scyndil to originate. Here are some ideas for places, too, if anyone is considering making a country but has no idea of what kind to create: - A desert land
- A tundra land
- A desolate land, populated by ghost towns
- A rainforest land
- A very poor land
Etc... ;D Y'know, just in case no one knows what to do!

I think, that we need some topographical hints heer. So I propose that a range of mountains divides the continent: I'd be using that to explain why #8 is a desert and #9 isn't. In fact, #9/#11 could be rainforests if that range of mountains is there. And also, what's the scale?
