As soon as Satchel jumped off of her Kat darted to her feet and towards the door. The grenade was still in her hand but she had pulled her fingers away from the pin. "What the hell is that thing?" She eyed the disgusting dragon-thing when she stopped only inches from the door, ready to make a quick escape if necessary.

((lol the camp director... guess I should get in there eventually, huh? I'll make my appearance tomorrow. ^^))
Lanz sighed with relief. He was betting that Aeslyn was finally innerly relenting that he was smarter than her. She'd never say so, of course, but he bet that she knew it.
"Oh shut up," she said to him, looking him sharply in the eye and turning away. "I was just about to cement my authority! I wanted Kora to be proud knowing that she would have someone like me as a friend to keep that creep away!"
"You don't need to go pick fights to do so."
"It wasn't me! It was her! She came at me!"
"Just be quiet. I don't want to treat you like a child because I know you're not. You're strong and brutal, but you're breaking down. Kora isn't who you want," he said. She was quieted, so he went to Kat.
"Excuse me, are you well?" he asked, holding out his hand just a little. "My name is Lanz."
Hopefully she wouldn't hate him. He could turn into just as much of a monster as Aeslyn.

Unconsciously backing up when the man 'Lanz' neared her Kat realized that she had left her close proximity to the doorway and cursed violently. "Yes, fine. Why wouldn't I be?" She said with a large, fake smile as soon as she stopped swearing. Measuring the distance between Lanz and the door she wondered if she could make it out without being stopped.
Ai was kicking and screaming in her mind, trying desperately to stop her from doing anything stupid. Kat wasn't stupid, she knew Ai would win sooner or later and she'd be down for the count this time. Plunging her hand into her bag once more she found an amber bottle filled with clear liquid and a syringe. Quickly she filled the syringe and lined it up with a vein in her arm. Hopefully the tranquilizer would win her the fight, for now.
(ooc: I just remembered that she has that.)

((ooc: Oh, dammit. I hate it when I miss pages and pages of action...))
So, Silver was busy arguing with Jerez about what fire was made of after he had made a comment at Aeslyns suggestion to go make one. Because of all the commotion, they tried to get to the core of the arguement, but their paths were impeded because of all the other people. Jerez didn't really try to hard because, well, he didn't care, and Silver figured that Aeslyn could take care of herself and that everyone else could just die if they had to.
With the appearance of this Lanz fellow, Silver's eye twitched in irritation. 'I wanted to see what she could do...' he thought, eventually deciding that it was probably for the better that he hadn't.
Jerez was excited when he smelled man coming from the distance, but upon seeing the hulky figure decided that Lanz probably wasn't his type. 'Figures.' He thought. At least, that's what he thought until he got a good look at the man's eyes. 'Maybe there's hope yet...' His hopes rose. Then Lanz held out his hand to the crazy girl. Hopes fell. This one actually wasn't his type... in a very literal sense. 'Figures.' He decided.
"Too much damn drama. That's all girls are good for." Jerez decided out loud, irritated once more.

After it was confirmed that Kat was well and composed, Lanz made sure his decrepid creation was back in the earth and composed himself. With a tired sigh, he turned to the two men he hadn't yet met.
"It's nice to see men," he said. "Too many more women here and we'd have bloodshed. My name is Lanz."
He hoped they were friendly. He was a little too exhausted to fight back. Levviel picked up this thought of his and looked him hard in the eye.
'You'll have to feed soon.'
'I know!' Lanz thought back. 'What do I feed on here, though...?' Levviel didn't answer, apparently with the same question.

"I concur." Silver said absently, picking at a nail he'd broken earlier. "I'm Silver, that one is Jerez." He pointed to his dark-haired companion.
"I was just saying the same thing before this whole mess happened." Jerez recalled with a smile, "Or... well, kind of..."
Silver let Jerez trail off, then turned his attention to Lanz. "So, I've seen a lot of necromancy in my days, but never a staff quite like that one. What did you use to make it?"

"Any more woman get here and I'll murder someone." Kat muttered, hoping they didn't hear her. And it was true, she was getting extremely nervous with so many other females around.
While they were talking about necromancy Kat slammed the syringe into her arm, emptying it's contents into her vein and sighing when Ai's protesting stopped. Then she made a break for the door, hoping that there was somewhere she could go for a run. She needed to clear her mind of the fact that she had almost shot someone innocent just because she was scared. When the hell did that become my jerk reaction to anything possibly harmful? She wondered, but there was no one to answer her at the moment so she ignored the thought.

Intellect. He loved it. Finally. Aeslyn sometimes tried to join in an intellectual, interesting conversation with him, but it often failed. She was more of a complainer. Not really a whiny one, but definitely an angry bitchy one.
"It was a long process," Lanz started. "I found a long branch from this tree in the graveyard my grandparents were buried in. I visited them all the time when I was a child. I hollowed out the inside and placed the femur and odd numbered rib bones in the center, then coated the outside of the staff in sap. My patience to wait for it to harden was a test of my abilities.
"As time passed, I cut off the hand of a vile enemy of mine when I was younger, and the skeleton sits atop my staff as a trophy of my victory."
The reminiscing made him smile a bit.

Silver gave a small chuckle at the man's smile.
"Ah yes, the best staff is one that's added onto over time. I don't have a necromancy staff, but I do have one..." He took a second to materialize his own staff. It was wooden, studded randomly with black opals and bloodstones and esoteric symbols. There were two large quarts crystals on the forked top of the staff, and one right above where Silver put his hand. Also right above Silver's hand was a leather string, off of with hung numerous, huge, jet-black raven feathers, and a couple more random stones.

Kora sat down in a corner of the room, watching the proceedings with mild interest. Not feeling social anymore Kora? Satchel thought. This was more like the Kora he knew! I'm fine... Just tired... She thought back, struggling to keep her eyes open. Well stay awake for a little while longer. Lady should be here soon. ~~~~~ Those people are really starting to bug me Jake. Why couldn't you go to a normal camp? Silkia thought, settling next to him, folding her golden wings around her. "Because little one-" He whispered, kneeling down beside Silkia to put an arm around her shoulder. "It wouldn't have been as interesting then." He gave her a small smile, and stared off into the distance, waiting for Lady.

After figuring out that there was nowhere to go outside Kat collapsed just outside of the door to wait for the camp director. She stared off into the distance, wondering when she was going to get to leave this strange place. It was odd being back among humans who had no fear of Wraith, it wasn't refreshing like she had thought it would be but instead scary to know that they knew nothing of the threat looming in earth's future.

Satchel stood, leaving Kora to rest, and padded over to where Kat stood by the door way, to sit beside her. Little one... He began, worrying about her gun. Why are you so afraid of things that communicate telepathically? I do not understand Satchel stretched, and walked closer to the door, looking longingly up at the blue sky. Oh, how he wished he could grab Kora and fly the two of them back to New York. But they were stuck here.

Trying not to flinch as Satchel spoke in her mind Kat answered, "Where I come from our enemies can do something like that. When they're hunting you they send you what some of the locals call 'shadows' and make you see things that aren't there. And if they capture you they can send their thoughts into your mind while you're being interrogated and make you want to answer them. If they bother with interrogation before they eat you." She stopped and closed her eyes, remembering those disgusting, hateful voices in her mind, ordering her to tell them the location of Earth.

I see. I- I'm sorry if Silkia and I caused you such discomfort. Satchel thought, somewhat distracted. Where was Lady? He wanted his team already. "Satchel!" Kora called, looking up from where she sat. Bye Kat. He said, before running back to Kora.

Kat didn't bother to respond to Satchel as he left. Instead choosing to grab her pack from were it sat in the middle of the room and once again shuffle through it, this time drawing out a sketchpad. Sitting with her back against the wall she began drawing something that appeared to be a very odd looking man and ignored the rest of the people in the room.
