I'm sure it will. Silki said scornfully, turning to fly back to Jake. "Wait Silki, we're sorry. Really, we are. Forgive us?" Kora asked, snickering as a skeleton hit Aeslyn on the back of the head. Come on Silki, I'll take you back to Kora's stalke- I mean Jake. I can find my way back myself Satchel. And she flew off angrily.

"Looks like you made yourself the new bad guy," Lanz muttered to Aeslyn. "But don't worry. Sadly, I think I will have your back. You know I could take anyone here."
"Listen-" Aeslyn turned around and put a finger to Lanz's chest, "-you keep your damn skeleton armies and decaying flesh away from me, okay? I don't need this crap! I'm fearless dammit!" Lanz batted Aeslyn's hand away from him.
"We aren't on Siopenne anymore, so knock it off."
The firebreather ignored him and sat by Kora.
"Why are the prettiest creatures so bitchy?" she then asked, referring to the dragon. "Doesn't she know what kind of person she shelters? I don't even know the guy and I can tell he's a prick."

"Jake hatched her, and he raised her. The two are best friends. I'm not surprised that she defends him the way she does. Satchel act the same way toward me." Kora said, watching Silki land near Jake, still glaring at the four of them. "Where is Siopenne?" She asked, turning toward Lanz. "It doesn't sound like it's in America. Or this world for that matter." Yes, I was wondering that myself. Satchel purred, curling up at Kora's side.

"Well I'm gonna hatch my foot up her ass..." Aeslyn murmured as quietly as she could. "Damn pricks, who the f--"
"Siopenne... well, let's see..." Lanz started, cutting Aeslyn off, "... it's not in... Am... whatever place you mentioned. It's one of seven mainlands in our world. Myself nor Aeslyn was born on Siopenne, but have strangely spent a good portion of our lives there."
"I don't know if you would count Byrde's Peak as part of Siopenne," the firebreather said. "I think in books it's not listed that way. Maybe it's its own seperate mainland or country."
"Regardless, I've spent more time away from home than on it. Where is this place, anyway?"
Aeslyn slowly stood up, spotting a small sign planted in the ground a few yards away from her and went to observe it, her mind wondering the same question. This definitely wasn't a familiar ground.
"It says 'Welcome to CampLand'."

"Cool! I'd like to see it someday if that is possible" Kora said, sitting back in the chair, absentmindedly petting Satchel. "We flew in from New York. It was brilliant. Have you ever flown through a cloud? It's super wet, but a bunch of fun." Lanz is it? I was wondering, where did you receive your staff? It is very interesting...
"Silki, why ever did you do that? Do you know how vulnerable your wings are? Especially when faced with Satchel's claws?" Jake asked, watching, astonished, as Silkia cleaned her claws like she hadn't just put herself in danger. Yes Jake, I did. But I was not about to have that girl threaten you and get away with it! "Thanks little one. But be careful who you yell at, alright?"

Lanz wasn't getting anywhere in an intellectual conversation with Aeslyn, but the fact that Satchel was putting one up pleased him. It was good to be a Libra.
"I made it myself before I 'left' home. You know... read some books, listened to some experienced practitioners show me the way, and did it myself. I don't know where I would be without it. It's like a part of me."
"If it means anything, my torch is the same way. Not nearly as important in my profession as your staff is, but still the same concept," Aeslyn said, returning to her seat. "But I didn't do anything special. I just broke it off a tree."

I see. Do you think you could explain how it works? "Wow." Kora laughed "And you say you didn't do anything special? Breaking a branch off of a tree is so hard! First you have to walk all the way to the tree. Then you have to break off the branch! So much work! I'm surprised you could do it!" Satchel rolled his eyes. Girls and their sarcasm. Intelligent conversation is so hard to come by these days.

Lanz nodded.
"I thrive off of intelligent conversation. Aeslyn is more sarcasm and surliness. But, let me see how well I can explain my magic," he said, dematerializing his staff and rubbing his hands together.
"The art of necromancy is... odd. They say once you start learning about it you're evil, but I could never really play the part. I try not to do harm with my magic, but moreso good. If that makes any sense. You make a staff that symbolizes you and using the magic. It has to be something you would fight to the death for if anything happened to it. Through this connection, you then gain the ability to materialize it-" he did so for show, "- or dematerialize it. Anything after that is sort of complicated. It takes a lot of energy to summon and put carrion on an undead being."
"But you're good at it," Aeslyn said. "Right? So you can do it."

I see. Girls are often like that. He stretched and stood up, long tail waving back and forth. That's interesting. I have my own magic, but have never learned to use it, as I was hatched far away from any experienced Starshine Cats. "What are you talking about Satch? Girls are so more intelligent than boys. And we're not all that sarcastic." She scratched him behind his ears, smiling. "But I think the pretty kitty forgot to take his nap." I'm not a kitty! I am a noble Starshine Cat! "Alrighty then" Kora said, looking over to where Jake was talking to Silki. "What did you say to them anyway?"

"I just told him to keep his distance, that's all," Aeslyn replied, glaring to the two on the other side of the camp. "And made sure he would get the picture." Lanz sighed and folded his husky arms.
"Because you needed to flex your 'authority', right? And you needed to let everyone know that you're the big bad wolf around here? With your fire and everything? Am I right?"
"Hey! I'm warning you--"
"Don't waste your breath."
Neither one of them could believe how much they were bickering, but it wasn't surprising. Their personalities didn't exactly go together, nor were they 'friends' or 'long-time-acquaintences'.

"Nice. So, are you and Lanz dating? You guys are a cute couple." Kora said, watching with distaste as Jake climbed onto Silki's back and they headed toward her. "What could they want..." Well, seeing as Jake is hopelessly in love with you... Satchel snickered, watching Kora's face grow red with embarrassment. He's probably just on his way to ask how people of our social standing got in to this sophisticated camp.

"NO WAY am I dating him!" Aeslyn suddenly said, distancing herself from the man. "We would tear each other apart. And anyway, I don't date. I doubt anyone could handle me."
For a moment there was a bit of silence, and then Lanz nodded.
"Actually, I think I agree with her. For once."

"Kora! Satchel! Lovely to see you! And Aeslyn, I never got a chance to tell you how nice it was to make new friends!" Jake said, his voice dripping with false sweetness. "Cut the crap Jake, none of us want to hear it." Kora said, keeping her eyes on Satchel. His muscles tense, and it was obvious that he wanted to pounce on the pest once more, and drive him so far into the ground that he would never get out. What is it you and Silki want? He thought, his purple eyes meeting Silkia's golden ones. Why, Satchel! Jake and I merely wanted to come talk to our new camp mates! Jake sat down beside Kora, a politician's smile plastered to his face.

Aeslyn smiled, watching Lanz go silent again. If only she had learned a similar technique, she might've stayed out of trouble. Kinda. But it was always trouble she could handle. Usually... but when she saw Jake sit next to Kora, her fists immediately clenched.
"Watch yourself," Lanz said to her silently. Aeslyn snorted.
"Don't you have an equine companion to hunt down?"
Lanz ignored her. His dubbed "daemonic unicorn pony thing" was fine at the moment, and was still on his way. That, and he didn't have time to worry about him. He was spending all of his time making sure Aeslyn didn't screw herself over in camp.

Aeslyn, I would watch yourself if I were you. Silkia thought toward her, hiding the words from all others present. "So, Kora, how are you enjoying camp?" Jake said, still smiling brightly. "I was enjoying it just fine until you showed up." She said bitterly. Is there something you want? BESIDES the fact that you are a hopeless stalker? Satchel asked. He did NOT like this guy. He got along fine with Silkia though. After all, their eggs had been in the same room for centuries. "Nah, I just wanted to say hi! I thought it fitting since we will probably end up on the same team." Jake fought to keep from striking Satchel. How dare he presume it is okay to talk to him like that! Ah well. "What?!" Kora yelled as Jakes words registered in her brain. "Are you serious?!" "Of course! When am I not?"
