That's why I have, like, a desk drawer full of writing utensils. ...And if there still isn't anything to work with, I've actually burned the end of a broken pencil and written with the charcoal.
...Heh... but that was before I got my laptop, so I don't have that problem anymore. I just turn it on and type in notepad.

But I also suggest writing first, typing second. ^_^ Because that way, when you type it up, you'll be forced to read it again - therefore catching mistakes like misspelled words or (god forbid) a change in tense. When you find a mistake, you can fix it in the notebook before typing it. <3

I hate writing before typing. It drives me insane to have to do the same thing twice and sometimes causes me to lose interest in the story. And now that I've learned to type fast I've given up writing things in notebooks almost entirely, it may be why my handwriting is so disgustingly unreadable

I do a fair balance of both... but I find that I usually re-read things a lot more when they're typed rather than when it's handwritten... half the time because my handwriting tends to get messier and messier with added emotion.
I've heard people say that ''the words don't flow when they type,'' but I think people my (our) age are so used to typing that it's just as much an extension of their mind as writing on paper.

I prefer typing because you can do it so much faster. If I'm handwriting by the time I've finished a chapter my thoughts are two more chapters ahead and I get bored. When I'm typing I can almost keep up with my thoughts and therefore my interest lasts alot longer

I always write before I type. I get ideas out better that way, because when I'm typing it over, I add so much. When I write first, it almost provides like a long outline for me. I suggest getting in the habit of it. That, and the editing process is faster and MUCH easier. It's easier to read on paper than on the screen, I say, and I write fairly fast. I type MUCH faster, don't get me wrong, but I write fast enough to tolerate writing. But yeah... it's easier to edit when you're retyping it, because then you don't really notice that you're editing. And you catch more mistakes that way. I have a really hard time editing things that are on a screen. ><;

I always reread stuff on the computer multiple times out of habit and correct when I do that

I guess that works for some people, but my eyes just don't catch things on the screen.

Yeah. To each there own. I'll admit that sometimes it helps when I'm transfering computers to retype it instead of just used the flashdrive

-nod- I can type pretty fast, but I still like writing first. Plus, if the computer crashes, I still have a copy in my notebook that I can retype. <3

I have mine on two computers so if one crashes it's still on the other. And it's usually saved on a flashdrive to

Smart. Why didn't I think of that? Oh well. -scribbles in notebook- Plus I can write at school when I'm bored or have inspiration. And teachers don't question it.

Lucky. I always got in trouble for that when I was still in school. I'd finish somethign early and read under my desk then get snapped at for not doing work I'd already finished

What? You can't get in trouble at school for reading! They encourage that! XD

No, they thought I wasn't doing my work. Then I'd show them the already done stuff and they'd leave me alone. I really hated school *burns the school system to the ground with her amazing superpowers*
