Seeing as it's a research thread, I need some help with some research Basically, I'm looking at creating some brand new creatures for my story (which is still in my head). I'm horrible at making up new species, they always turn out like a normal animal, just with wings, or powers or something. So I need some help. I'm looking for any spiritual or fantasy creatures, pretty much so I can take attributes from about 5, and meld them together into a brand new creature. Names I'm ok with, so I don't have a problem naming any new creatures, but I'm having difficulty finding new creatures to research. Can anyone help?

I'd suggest actually looking at some Dungeons and Dragons monsters (I have a monster manual floating around my room somewhere) and getting ideas there. They know everything, lol. Or go meandering around here: www.seventhsanctum.com/generate.php?Genname=legendcreatureBut anyway... I'd combine... urm... a plant, a horse... a... reptile... Or... a fox and a goblin... Hrm, you go on from there. ^^

OR A HORSE TREE! That'd be neat! TREE HORSE. WHATEVER. It'd be neat. A horse made out of TREE!

I mean a horse that's wood. Kind of like a Dryad. Only a horse. So yeah essentially I guess leaves for a mane and tail.

I like the idea of plant animals (the tree horse too). I may actually be able to fit that in really well. Thanks guys
